  • Obverse: Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with three laurel leaves and vine scroll.
  • Reverse: AΘE, owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig with berry and crescent moon behind, all within incuse square.
  • Reference: HGC 4, 1596, Starr Group V.

This  die set was purchased from the estate of a jeweler and is believed to be a contemporary copy of a Starr Group V.B Athens Tetradrachm.

As of 2024, only 216 Starr Group Athenian tetradrachms have been certified by NGC, with just 47 in Choice XF. Subtle plum and strawberry cabinet toning enhances its depth.
